Doe Valley Custom Services is here to help you maintain and repair your home, whether it's your full-time residence, your second home, or your vacation rental. Our focus on smaller jobs means we can respond to your needs more quickly.

Our service van and pickup truck are equipped with a wide variety of tools and equipment. This allows us to respond to an equally wide variety of repairs without needing to fetch more tools. This saves us time, which saves you money.

We understand how houses are constructed, as well as how each of the individual systems within a house should operate. We even have received special training in log home construction and maintenance. This helps us to diagnose problems more accurately, leading to better repair solutions.

Maintenance Inspections

There's a new service we're offering that has received a tremendous response from owners of vacation rental homes here in the High Country. Doe Valley Custom Services can inspect your vacation rental home at set intervals, looking for maintenance issues before they become problems. The inspection is customized to your home's individual needs, and can be scheduled monthly, quarterly, or some other schedule that suits you and your home's rental schedule. You are billed a flat fee for each inspection, and that fee includes the labor charge for any minor repairs that can be completed during the time frame of the inspection. You are notified of any issues that are found, and your approval is sought for any repairs that will require additional charges due to the time or materials needed to complete the repair. If you have questions or would like your vacation rental home to be included in our schedule for these inspections, just let us know by phone or email. We will be happy to discuss the specific needs of your home with you.

Stone Veneer

We removed the two bottom rows of rotting siding around this garage and replaced them with a stone veneer that won't be damaged by the rain. It finishes the look of the garage nicely.

Bear-Proof Trash Enclosure

Installing this bear-proof trash enclosure keeps the bears and raccoons from being a nuisance at this house.  And the owner isn't paying any more fines for trash not being securely stored.

Bathroom Floor

After repairing the toilet leak and replacing the damaged subfloor under the toilet, laying vinyl plank flooring made this bathroom look brand new!

Steel Cable Railing

We installed a section of steel cable railing to act as a safety barrier when guests are sitting on the edge of the hot tub at this vacation rental house. An elegant solution that doesn't block the view.

Owner's Closet Within a Closet

We added a wall and lockable door inside a deep bedroom closet to allow the owner of this vacation rental home to have a secure Owner's Closet for storage of their personal skiing equipment, while keeping usable closet space available for guests.

Hog Wire Rail

Two sections of hog wire railing in the corner of this patio were just enough to protect guests while adding a bit of modern visual interest.

Underdeck Ceiling

Installing this ZipUp underdeck ceiling system turned this lower deck into a dry, clean, usable outdoor space, perfect for entertaining or even storage.

Custom Railing

These beautiful sawn log steps didn't originally have a handrail, so we crafted one that blends with the style and decor of the home.

Cedar Deck Rail

We replaced the rotting posts and rail sections on this deck with all new cedar lumber, copying the exact design of the existing railing. What a beauty!

About Us

Daniel Edwards, Owner of DVCS

My name is Daniel Edwards. I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. My family and I relocated to the High Country in 2015, responding to God's call to volunteer with a Christian camp and conference center here. A fortunate series of events resulted in me opening my own handyman business in 2016.

I have always been a sort of Jack-of-all-trades. I learned the right way to build a house - no shortcuts - from one of the premier custom home builders in Greensboro, NC. Now I enjoy using those skills to help others care for their homes.

I am proud to say that Doe Valley Custom Services is truly a family business. I have the honor of working with my wife and grown son. Together, we are Doe Valley Custom Services.
